Meilenwerk is a huge classic car showroom with three sites in Germany. We visited the Dusseldorf site on our way to the Essen show. It's in a converted railway shed, which is a lot more impressive than that sounds! There are all sorts of shops (selling accessories, models, clothes etc... all with a classic car twist), workshops, old car service stations, trimmers, panel beaters, everything an old car owner could possibly want. The building is very impressive with the main hall having a very high ceiling and the outer offices and workshops on two levels with cars stacked in giant car ports.
The majority of the cars for sale had been moved to Essen for the show but there was still a large selection of top class cars including Mercedes 600s, SLs, Porsche 356, a Facel Vega Excellence, and a surprising number of Triumphs TR3, 4 and 6 all for sale. Some very nice W111 cabriolets as shown below, one 3.5 and a 220SEb with the unusual double seat arrangement at the rear.
The cafe was a treat it was stuffed with all sorts of automobilia and models and did a decent cup of tea. Well worth a visit if you ever happen to be in the area or have some unusual purchase in mind...I hope these photos give a flavour of the place there's certainly nothing like this in the UK.
